Yes. Credit Bureau Services Canada has been operating since 1932. We are licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, and we are members of both the Receivables Management Association of Canada (RMA) and the Canadian Security and Collection Association (CSCA). If you have received a letter from us, it means a creditor has placed your account with our agency for collection.

Yes. We understand that paying the full balance at once is not always possible. Contact your assigned account representative to discuss payment arrangement options. We will work with you to find a solution that is reasonable for your circumstances.

If you do not recognize the debt or believe there has been an error, contact us as soon as possible. You have the right to request verification of the debt, including the name of the original creditor and the amount owing. We are required by law to provide this information, and we will work with you to resolve any discrepancies.

The name of the original creditor is included in the letter or notice you received from us. If you need additional information about the original account, including dates and amounts, please contact us directly and we will provide you with the details you need.

Collection accounts can appear on your credit report with both TransUnion and Equifax. When you pay your account in full or make agreed-upon arrangements, we will update your file accordingly. Resolving your account is an important step in maintaining or rebuilding your credit standing.

As a debtor in Ontario, you are protected under the Collection and Debt Settlement Services Act. You have the right to be treated with respect, to request verification of your debt, and to not be contacted at unreasonable hours. Collection agencies cannot use threatening or intimidating language, misrepresent the amount owed, or contact you at your place of employment if you request otherwise.
